Lady A’s Hillary Scott is beaming over the life she’s leading.
“We are in a really sweet place right now,” Scott, 39, tells PEOPLE mere weeks after giving birth to her and husband Chris Tyrrell’s fourth baby, daughter Selah Jean, on July 25. “Our house is full, and our hearts are full and we’re just adjusting to life with a newborn again, and it’s so fun. She’s doing wonderful.”
And while the couple finds themselves over the moon over the new baby girl in the house, it’s big sisters Eisele Kaye, 12, and Emory JoAnn and Betsy Mack, 7, who might just be the ones even more excited.
“[Selah’s] sisters are just so smitten with her,” explains Scott. “I feel like my older girls come down the stairs every morning, and if I’m feeding her or she’s waking up, it’s like Christmas morning every day. It’s just so sweet.”

Certainly, it’s a blissful time in the collective lives of Lady A — not only in the Scott household, but also in the household of Lady A’s Charles Kelley, whose wife Cassie gave birth to a baby boy, Archer Lancaster Kelley, on Sept. 16.
“For the past four or five years, we were like, ‘Okay, it’s just not in the cards and we’re completely happy with our life,’ ” Kelley, 44, tells PEOPLE from his home in Nashville that he has long shared with Cassie and their 9-year-old son Ward. “Then it was almost like the minute we stopped trying and thinking about it, it just happened.”
“I mean, what are the chances we are all in the same season of life again?” adds Scott, noting that Lady A’s Dave Haywood and wife Kelli became a family of five when they welcomed their third child, son Joseph Michael Haywood, in July 2024.“I can’t even express just how much joy it brings for all of us — not only in our individual families, but also as the collective Lady A family. We’re just so overjoyed.”

For Scott in particular, the mere sight of a house filled with children is especially heartwarming — serving up a living reminder of blessings she once feared might never come.
“It’s been 10 years since our pregnancy loss,” explains Scott, who experienced a miscarriage back in the fall of 2015. “Your heart remembers, and your body remembers. You just have to really choose gratitude and thankfulness that God saw fit to send us not just our twins, but another little girl.”
It’s these multiple blessings that the Grammy-winning trio Lady A will most certainly celebrate as they head out on tour in December in support of On This Winter’s Night (Volume 2), their first full holiday album in over a decade. And while it’s somewhat unknown if all nine of the Lady A kids will find themselves out on tour with their respective parents at the same time, there is a chance that some might be along for the ride.
“The plan is that we’re going to plan as best we can,” laughs Scott, whose baby girl will be 4 months old when they embark on the new tour. “The holiday season just becomes more and more magical with each year and so, we will definitely be bringing that magic that [the kids] inspire us with into every show.”
And while the idea of getting back on-stage mere months after having a baby could be deemed as somewhat scary, Scott doesn’t seem fazed.
“Right now, the plan is to continue to rest and get stronger,” she says. “But I feel good. I mean, this pregnancy was really the easiest one I have had. I was not expecting being an ‘older mom,’ but Selah was really sweet to me. Plus, I think also having three older girls to just wake up and show up for and run around with has helped my recovery. I’m just really not putting too much pressure on myself. I’m just really feeling my way through each day.”

So, could there be more Lady A babies on the way?
“I think this is the end of that chapter,” laughs Kelley. “We’re going to have a snip party. Is that a thing? We can make that a thing. But seriously, I feel like our families are all about to be so complete, that we can start focusing on our next journey as a band and a family.”
