Lady Gaga is on her Mayhem Tour through mid-April 2026, but the singer may just fit in a wedding, too. The star and her fiancé, Michael Polansky, spoke with Rolling Stone about their plans. Polansky explained, “We’re talking about it all the time. We have these [tour] breaks, and they’re tempting. It’s like, ‘OK, can we get married that weekend?’ We don’t want a really big wedding, but we want to enjoy it. In a lot of ways, we already feel married, so it’s not like it’s gonna change much.”
They are just as eager to start a family. “Being a mom is the thing I want the most,” Gaga said. “And he’s gonna be a beautiful father. We’re really excited about that.”
They aren’t concerned about raising children in the spotlight, with Polansky citing the singer’s godchildren, Elton John and David Furnish’s sons Zachary and Elijah, as positive examples of children growing up with famous parents. “Their kids have turned out to be very happy,” he said. “The most important thing is making it feel like this is just our family, this is what we do. Her being Lady Gaga and the art and all of it is not something that she has to compartmentalize away from her relationship with me or when she’s a mother.”
Polansky spoke about how he met Gaga in 2019, noting how surprised he was that her mother wanted to match him with the star. “When her mom first started telling me she wanted to set me up with her daughter, I thought she had to have been joking, because nobody in my life would’ve thought of me as somebody who wanted to get attention,” he said. The dilemma, as he put it, was “how could somebody who is so shy and wants so much privacy love someone that would cause his life to become the exact opposite of everything he thought he wanted?”
Gaga told her side of the story, saying, “My mom thought we would be a good match or that at least I would be enamored with him. [She told me], ‘Stefani, he’s a very serious guy.’”
She choked up before continuing. “It’s so special to look back on that, because so many people in my life at that time were looking for a good time. People really loved Drunk Lady Gaga. [But] none of my tricks were gonna work on him. We were gonna meet each other and probably have a very sincere adult conversation and see if we liked each other. Michael’s sense of gravity might be the thing that I was attracted to about him the most. He immediately understood how serious things were for me.”
The COVID-19 lockdown allowed Polansky to get to know Stefani, the person behind the pop star. “The piece that I always noticed was how disempowered she felt,” he said. “Not in charge of her own life. I’d never met somebody so incredibly talented and gifted feel so disempowered.”
Gaga added, “What he saw was, this is somebody that feels very far away from what they’re supposed to be doing. He wanted to take care of me. And I’ve never been loved that way. My life was serious to him. It was not a party. He helped me see that my life was precious.”
