Lady Gaga has been hard at work writing new music, and, according to a source, she’s getting all her inspo from fiancé-turned-muse Michael Polansky.
“She wants to go deeper as an artist and as a person, and she says she can’t make that journey without Michael by her side,” the source exclusively tells Star. “It’s as simple as that.”
The “Bad Romance” artist, 39, took home the Artist of the Year award at the 2025 VMAs earlier this month, and paid tribute to the love of her life in her speech.
“And to my partner in all things, Michael: Creating this year with you was a beautiful, beautiful dream, and you have been my partner every step of the way,” she said in her acceptance speech. “I dedicate this to you, too, my love.”

According to the insider, “Gaga isn’t blowing smoke! She really believes this relationship with Michael has made her a better artist and a more confident, healthy performer.”
“But you don’t normally see stars of her level of fame come out and openly credit their partner the way Gaga has,” the source continued. “Behind the scenes, Gaga’s team and her reps are also extremely supportive of Gaga marrying Michael and starting a family with him.”
The pair were first linked in 2020 after being spotted together on New Year’s Eve and they made their relationship Instagram Official just one month later.
During the 2024 Paris Olympics, Gaga introduced Michael as her “fiancé,” confirming engagement rumors.

“For everybody around Gaga, Michael coming into her life is seen as a positive development,” the insider tells Star. “But the approval of the people around Gaga is not what she’s going for by getting involved with Michael and planning to spend the rest of her life with him.”
Gaga is adamant that her relationship with Michael is “helping her raise the level of her music and art,” the source says, adding, “She was basically lost as a person before they met. And she’s speaking from the heart about all of this stuff, in words and of course, in song!”
