A year ago the University of scranton lost at home in the NCAA tournament elite 8.
Motivated by that last night in the same position the Lady Royals jumped out to a 20 point first half lead over Concordia-Moorhead.
Scranton used a suffocating defense to defeat the Cobbers 67-42 and earn a berth in the Division 3 Final Four.
It will be the 10th time the Lady Royals have advanced to this far.
Ben O’Brien., Scranton Coach says,”You know, we’ve been so close the last couple of years. And to see our group, especially during that difficult second half stretch where they really making a run at us to see us use all that experience over the last couple of years to be resilient in that moment and then overcome it and make huge plays. I just couldn’t be more proud of our team. “
Kaci Kranson, Lady Royals Senior added,”You know, my career here we made it to the elite eight two years in row so this is the year we had to do it. This is our senior year it is extra special. This is a great group of girls who are all of my best friend s and to do it on our home court makes it even extra special. “
