The first artists bound for BIGSOUND 2026 have been revealed — and there’s a lot of Kiwi representation in the lineup.
Taking place this September 1st-4th, BIGSOUND 2026 will once again bring the global music industry to Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley.
Announced today, the showcase lineup for this year “represents a rich, diverse roster of names from around the country and New Zealand,” according to a press release.
The BIGSOUND 100 lineup was curated by programmers Casey O’Shaughnessy and Katie Rynne, in consultation with an expert board of artists and industry figures from across Australian music.
The biggest name representing Aotearoa New Zealand is Ladyhawke, who first broke out with her chart-topping self-titled debut album in 2008. Ladyhawke hasn’t released an album since 2021’s Time Flies, so her BIGSOUND booking could hint at new material.
NZ-born, Melbourne-based indie singer-songwriter DC Maxwell will be at BIGSOUND 2026, following another industry gig at Rolling Stone House at SXSW Sydney last year.
Tusekah, who recently featured in our Up-And-Coming Aotearoa Artists series, is part of the BIGSOUND 100 lineup, as is hip-hop trio MOKOMOKAI, Ōtautahi Christchurch rocker Mim Jensen, and indie rock outfit Daily J.
