Ali Larter has given fans a glimpse into her “simpler” life after the actress swapped Los Angeles for remote Idaho six years ago.
Larter, 50, and her husband Hayes MacArthur, 49, decided to pull up stakes with their children, 15-year-old son Theodore and daughter Vivienne, 11, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The foursome relocated from L.A. to the ski resort town of Sun Valley, and she offered her Instagram followers a belated look at her Fourth of July weekend on Thursday, July 9, when she shared a few photos of her celebrations.
“Epic 4th in the Mountains!” the Landman actress wrote alongside snaps of her friends and family surrounded by the town’s idyllic scenery.

In the first photo of the Instagram carousel, a large group kitted out in red, white and blue outfits poses on a red and white Willys Jeep.
In others, she and her loved ones are floating along the water, holding fly fishing rods and sipping on drinks as they celebrate the 250th anniversary of the U.S.

The picturesque snaps come weeks after Larter told Fox News how her summers have become “totally different” since her family moved and embraced a “simpler life.”
Larter told the outlet, “We love to barbecue at our house. We love to play with our dogs. My daughter will probably play some volleyball. We’ll go to [local ice cream parlor] Leroy’s and get an ice cream cone.”
She continued, “It’s just kind of simpler, and the days are really long. The sun’s out till like 10 at night now, so it’s been really beautiful to kind of have the kids out of school and enjoy the time with them.”

The Legally Blonde star admitted that she can’t persuade her kids to go hiking anymore, but that they’ll be happy to go for a bike ride or take a “cold plunge” in the river.
Last year, she said she felt a kind of “magic” in the mountains. “When I’m up there hiking for three hours, I feel a special calmness. I feel the most in my skin now than I’ve ever felt before,” she told the Wall Street Journal.
Larter also recently opened up to PEOPLE about her own lifestyle and wellness habits and how they’ve changed since she turned 50. “I believe in the whole approach to wellness,” she explained. “I’m someone who definitely [goes] to the gym, I drink a ton of water and celery juice. I take care of my skin. I love my family.”

She revealed that she shares skincare advice with Vivienne — who recently joined her mom on the red carpet alongside her brother — and that they will do their nighttime skincare routine together.
“I didn’t put the importance on the consistency when I was younger,” she admitted. “I have a daughter and you kind of make it like it’s like a beautiful part of your night instead of it being rushed,” she said.
