Last Rites’ haunts its way to No.1, while Tamil actioner ‘Madharaasi’ battles into second place

KUALA LUMPUR, Sep 12 — The Conjuring: Last Rites spooked its way to the No.1 spot at the local box office, delivering a bold conclusion to the story of Ed and Lorraine Warren and ending the franchise with a bang.

Coming in at second place is the Tamil action film Madharaasi, which has been praised for its high-octane sequences and is already being hailed as one of director A.R. Murugadoss’s best works to date.

Also new to the charts are local Magik Rompak and the highly anticipated Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Movie, giving moviegoers plenty of exciting options to catch this weekend.

Even better — with public holidays on Monday and Tuesday, it’s the perfect time to enjoy an extended movie marathon.
