BRATTLEBORO — Latchis Arts will present An Evening with Livingston Taylor at 7:30 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 25.
Taylor’s career as a professional musician has spanned over 50 years, encompassing performance, songwriting, and teaching. Described as “equal parts Mark Twain, college professor, and musical icon,” Taylor maintains a busy performance schedule, delighting audiences with his charm and vast repertoire of his 22 albums and popular classics, according to a release.
Taylor last performed at the Latchis in 2022, and captivated the audience with a set that included music from many genres – folk, pop, gospel, jazz – and, taking inspiration from the Latchis’ historic movie vibe, several classics from “The Wizard of Oz.” His gift for sharing songs and stories creates a warm connection between Taylor and his audiences, says Latchis Arts.
Taylor has written top-40 hits recorded by his brother James Taylor and has appeared with Joni Mitchell, Linda Ronstadt, Fleetwood Mac, and Jimmy Buffet. In addition to his performance schedule, Taylor has taught stage performance for over 30 years, beginning at Berklee College of Music in Boston in 1989.
