Smokey Robinson is facing new allegations as the high-profile civil suit against him continues to expand.
The Motown icon, 85, was originally sued in May by four Jane Does who worked as housekeepers for Robinson and his wife, Frances Gladney Robinson.
Now, two additional individuals—a fifth Jane Doe and a John Doe—have moved to join the case, according to newly filed court documents obtained by TMZ.
In the new filing, the male accuser, identified as John Doe, alleges he began working for the Robinsons around 2013 at their Chatsworth home, detailing their vehicles in the early morning hours.
He claims that on numerous occasions, Robinson stepped outside wearing only underwear and “touched and fondled his erect penis” in full view. Doe says “Smokey Robinson’s sexual arousal was vivid and unmistakable during these incidents,” and alleges the singer also made suggestive gestures and remarks, including motions directing him toward another room.
According to the complaint, Doe says he would try to shut down the behavior by telling Robinson to “put some clothes on.” He claims the alleged conduct escalated in 2022 when Robinson “grabbed [his] hand without consent and attempted to force it onto his erect penis.”
Doe alleges he was terminated shortly after, but returned to work a year later at the request of Robinson’s wife. He claims the inappropriate behavior resumed, ultimately prompting him to leave the job permanently after learning of similar accusations from others.
The newly added Jane Doe accuser similarly claims she experienced repeated incidents while working inside the home. In her filing, she alleges that on more than 10 occasions, Robinson grabbed her hand and attempted to force her to touch his erect penis.
The original lawsuit filed in May includes claims of sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment, and gender violence. At the time, Robinson’s legal team denied the allegations and characterized the lawsuit as an attempt to secure a payout.
In a statement provided to TMZ regarding the newest filings, Robinson’s attorney, Christopher Frost, said, “These plaintiffs are part of the same group of people who have conspired together against the Robinsons and are laying out their claims for maximum adverse publicity.”
Frost added that this is “an organized, avaricious campaign to extract money from an 85-year-old legend,” asserting the claims are false and that the anonymous accusers have refused to turn over evidence necessary to investigate.
