British-born singer Lauren Bennett, who featured on LMFAO’s 2011 hit “Party Rock Anthem,” was a former member of the G.R.L. and Paradiso Girls groups and worked with will.i.am and CeeLo Green, died in May, multiple media outlets reported this week.
The members of G.R.L., which performed in the mid-2010s, announced Bennett’s death with a statement on Instagram on Monday.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Lauren,” read the statement signed by Emmalyn Estrada, Natasha Slayton and Paula van Oppen.
“Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us. We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us,” it continued.
“Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved,” it added. “Rest peacefully, sweet Lauren. You will always be in our hearts.”
Bennett died in England on May 29, reported USA Today, citing local coroner records. A cause of death was not revealed. An inquest will take place in the fall.
