It may be spooky season in the Rivertowns — see my Halloween restaurant coverage — but it’s also filming season.
On Sept. 23, filming took place at Zuppa in Yonkers for “The Rise and Fall of Reggie Dinkins” and on Sept. 24, downtown streets were partially shut down for “Law & Order: SVU,” in Tarrytown.
Filming for the Tracy Morgan show, “The Rise and Fall of Reggie Dinkins” took place at Zuppa in Yonkers.
Tracy Morgan filming in Yonkers
“The Rise and Fall of Reggie Dinkins,” reunites Tracy Morgan, who’s the star and creator with co-showrunner Tina Fey. The NBC comedy, which does not yet have a premiere date, follows disgraced former football player (Morgan) on a mission to rehabilitate his image. It also stars Daniel Radcliffe, Erika Alexander, Bobby Moynihan, Precious Way and Jalyn Hall.
The Italian restaurant Zuppa was transformed into The Tuscan Grape for the show (no word on which stars were there). The comedy also filmed at The Wedge Sandwich Shop on Warburton and at a local dry cleaner as well as at Lionsgate studios. There’s word that they are continuing to film this week on streets around Yonkers.

Filming in Tarrytown
On Sept. 24, there were intermittent disruptions for pedestrians and drivers on Main Street in Tarrytown between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for another NBC show, this time for the long-running series “Law & Order: SVU.”
Filming was spotted at the Set Back Inn, an old school, cash-only bar known for its cold beer, darts boards and pool table. There was also activity at a resident on John Street, off Main where actors on site included Kelly Giddish, Kevin Kane and Aimé Donna Kelly.
