Lea Thompson, known for hits like the Back to the Future movie series and Switched at Birth, celebrated the landmark anniversary of another one of her big projects, the 1990s sitcom Caroline in the City, which ran from 1995 to 1999.
The actress took to Instagram to share a montage of some stills from the show, along with stories about the specific moments. She wrote in the caption, “Caroline in the City is 30 how can I be 37?” as she joked about her age.
Alongside a promotional photo from the start of the show, Thompson wrote, “When we shot the pilot I had just given birth to @zoeydeutch and couldn’t wait to get back to her to breastfeed. You can tell in this photo.”
She then shared a still of herself and actor Malcolm Gets kissing, noting that they won the TV Guide Best Kiss Award for their performance. Thompson included a photo with actress Amy Pietz, who also starred in the series, while writing, “@amypietz is not only the best actress ever she’s still my bestie.”

Thompson’s next behind-the-scenes detail was more personal and sad, as she revealed, “The first day of the second episode my father died. It was really hard.” She also called out the production crew, saying, “I couldn’t believe they put a Lolita poster in a grown woman’s apartment. I made them replace it the second year with an Elvis poster.”
The montage included a few more fun callbacks to the show before Thompson signed off with the sweet and appreciative message, “Mostly I feel blessed to have worked with these amazing people and had a chance to make you laugh.”
Along with Thompson, Pietz, and Gets, Caroline in the City also starred Eric Lutes, Andy Lauer, and Tom La Grua. There were also plenty of familiar faces in guest-starring roles, including Lauren Graham, Peter Krause, Leslie Jordan, Pat Morita and Matthew Perry.
