New businesses coming to The Grove in Newark
A fast-casual restaurant, a bowling alley-and-entertainment hub, a wellness center and a cell phone store are coming to Newark’s The Grove in 2026.
Newark has a new spot for bowling, digital ax-throwing, arcade games and live entertainment at the new massive entertainment venue, Lefty’s Alley & Eats.
The Lewes-based restaurant and entertainment venue expanded from the beaches into northern Delaware with its second location at 281 Grove Lane in The Grove, which opens July 17.
The 55,000-square-foot space features 16 bowling lanes, four duckpin bowling lanes, a 7,000-square-foot arcade and a Topgolf simulator.
The fun doesn’t end there, as Lefty’s also has digital ax-throwing, Krazy Dart bays and the East Coast’s first Game Show Experience.
“This is much more than a bowling alley or restaurant,” Lefty’s founder DJ Hill said in a press release. “We’ve spent years developing a destination that brings people together through food, fun and shared experiences.”
In addition to entertainment, the new location has a restaurant, outdoor patio, beer garden and group event spaces.
Lefty’s menu features a variety of comfort food favorites, including handcrafted burgers, specialty pizzas, signature sandwiches, salads, shareable appetizers and house-made desserts.
Run by Executive Chef Arnold Watt, Lefty’s restaurant will feature curated rotating chef’s inspired dishes updated weekly for some fun menu surprises.
“From day one, we’ve believed that our food should be just as memorable as the attractions,” Hill said. “Whether guests are joining us for a family dinner, a corporate event, happy hour with friends, or a full day of fun, we want the culinary experience to exceed expectations. When it comes to food, we don’t play games.”
