‘The Road to Us’ is a ‘love letter’ to fans
In May 2025, the former Hardy Boys star spoke to Billboard about what he calls “the biggest commitment of 50 shows and more to come I’ve ever had in my life.” Cassidy admitted, “The truth is, in my whole career I never really toured — because as a kid, I was working on The Hardy Boys, so I’d go out on weekends, and then I got a week here or two weeks there in the summer.” He concluded that the tour is a “love letter to our shared history and experience.”
Cassidy concluded his last major tour in 1980, according to his official website. He didn’t hit the road again until 2019, but not via a long-running tour.
How did Shaun Cassidy become a teen idol?
Shaun Cassidy shot to fame in 1977 with his chart-topping cover of The Crystals’ “Da Doo Ron Ron,” which soared to number one on the Billboard Hot 100. At the same time, he was winning over television audiences as a star of ABC’s mystery series The Hardy Boys alongside Parker Stevenson.
His first eponymous album reached platinum status, and a second, titled Born Late, peaked at Number 6 and spawned the successful singles “Hey Deenie” and a cover of The Lovin’ Spoonful’s “Do You Believe in Magic.”
Cassidy subsequently released the albums Under Wraps, Room Service, and Wasp before stepping back from his recording career to focus on television work. He put on a producer’s hat for series such as American Gothic, Invasion, Ruby and the Rockets, Blue Bloods, and New Amsterdam.
Additionally, he starred in the Broadway play Blood Brothers alongside his stepbrother, Partridge Family star David Cassidy, in 1993 and 1995. Along with Petula Clark, the trio told the story of a mother who faced the agonizing choice of giving one of her fraternal twins up for adoption. Later in life, the men meet and fall in love with the same girl.
Shaun Cassidy has been married three times, according to PEOPLE Magazine. He tied the knot with Tracey Lynne Turner in 2004, and they are parents to four children: Caleb, Roan, Lila, and Mairin. He is also a father to Caitlin and Jake and a stepfather to Jessica with his first wife, Ann Pennington. He also has a daughter, Juliet, with his second wife, Susan Diol.
