Apple Music’s artist services and distribution company Platoon has inked a deal with Lenny Tavárez, the company tells Billboard.
Known for his signature blend of seductive reggaetón infused with R&B tones, Tavárez (real name Julio Manuel González Tavárez) has emerged as one of the most notable artists in Puerto Rico’s thriving music scene.
“I’m thrilled to join Platoon with its prestigious, boutique approach to talent development,” Tavárez tells Billboard in a statement. “I truly believe this will elevate my career to new heights, and I’m excited to embrace the unique challenges and grow alongside an innovative and forward-thinking company.”
With more than 11 billion streams, 16 million followers across social platforms, and charting hits like “Bellaquita,” “Pa Mi Remix” and “Medallo,” Tavárez has established himself as a force in Latin urban music. He’s also landed on several Billboard charts, including six entries on Hot Latin Songs and eight on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. tally.
Beyond his own music, Tavárez’s songwriting credits include blockbuster singles such as Karol G’s “Bichota” and Anitta’s “Envolver,” showcasing his impact as one of the genre’s most sought-after creative collaborators. He is a two-time SESAC pop/rhythm songwriter of the year (2023 and 2025) and was honored with the La Musa Triunfador award at the 12th annual La Musa Awards.

On Friday (Feb. 20), Tavárez dropped the joint album Supérate with longtime collaborator Justin Quiles. It was preceded by “Juicy,” a sultry, trap-laden single.
