Lil Nas X has shared a personal update with fans following a difficult start to 2026.
The “Old Town Road” rapper was arrested in August 2025 over alleged battery of police officers, but the charges were dismissed in April 2026 on the condition that he complete a two-year treatment programme.
Now, Lil Nas X says he is doing well in recovery, sharing a new video with fans about his progress.
In the clip, the musician revealed he now has a therapist and psychiatrist, who helped diagnose him with bipolar disorder.
“I feel like I had known for the past few years, but I didn’t want admit to it because I didn’t want to have to take medication,” Lil Nas X said.
“I’m already black and gay! Damn, God! I’m like living life on like extreme hard mode. But on a serious note, I’m doing much better. I’m feeling better.”
The star also confirmed that he is working on new music, promising fans that fresh material is on the way.
“There is new music on the way! I’m excited to do that and I’m excited to go on this journey with you guys. We’ve been through so much together. Thank you guys for holding me down. I love you. All I want to do is continue to try to make you proud and make myself proud.”
The update has reassured fans who have followed Lil Nas X through both his chart-topping career and recent personal challenges.
