Lily Allen’s ex, David Harbour, has finally spoken out about his “regrets” in life during a recent interview with Esquire Spain.
This comes on the heels of cheating allegations made by Allen in her new album, West End Girl, which is said to be inspired by their marriage.
Allen didn’t hold back in her latest album, accusing Harbour of infidelity throughout three years of their relationship. The songs “Tennis” and “Madeline” seem to brutally detail the reasons behind their marital breakdown.
West End Girl marks Allen’s first album in seven years, recorded in a mere 10 days following her heart-wrenching split from Harbour last December.
In the November issue of Esquire Spain, conducted before the album’s release, Harbour was asked if there were aspects of his life he would alter.
He added that if he could change anything, he’d change “everything” and “just make my life happy and silly”, but also acknowledged that such changes might mean he “wasn’t an artist anymore”.
Lily seized Halloween as a chance to take a playful swipe at her ex-husband David by dressing up as his rumored mistress “Madeline”.
The debut single from the album, fittingly titled ‘Madeline’, appears to allude to David’s supposed mistress with the lyrics “and who’s Madeline?”
On the very day the single dropped, Lily showed up at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles, costumed as the cherished children’s book character, Madeline, in what seems to be a barely concealed jab at her ex’s alleged infidelity, according to reports.
Lily rounded out her outfit with an orange bob wig, white socks, black shoes, and a red Birkin handbag. Despite pointing fingers at the Stranger Things actor for being disloyal, Lily insists that her new song is a mixture of personal experiences and fiction.
Nevertheless, fans have been anxious to discover the story behind the anthem, with one interviewer boldly asking Lily, “Who the f*** is Madeline?”.
Lily’s Halloween costume ranked among the most impressive celebrity looks this year, with A-listers going all out for the red carpet. This follows accusations that Lily has been exploiting her messy divorce from David to boost her latest album, West End Girl, as part of a “strategic PR move”.
