TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Rock Band Limp Bizkit announced the death of their bassist and backing vocalist, Sam Rivers at age 48 on Saturday in a post on Instagram.
“Today we lost our brother. Our bandmate. Our heartbeat.”
The band, hailing from Jacksonville, Florida, wrote in a caption, accompanying a photo of Rivers performing.
“Sam Rivers wasn’t just our bass player — he was pure magic.
The pulse beneath every song, the calm in the chaos, the soul in the sound.”
They did not release a cause of death.
Rivers was one of the founding members of the popular musical group, known for songs including “Behind Blue Eyes, and “Take a Look Around.”
