The show is back for a Stand Up To Cancer special
With the original series of Gogglebox being one of the most popular shows on the box, we were over the moon when spin-off show Celebrity Gogglebox graced our screens, and now there’s been seven full series!
Whilst we await the eighth series, there’s going to be a one-off special episode of Celebrity Gogglebox for this year’s Stand Up To Cancer, which airs on Friday 12th December.
Who is taking part in the special?
Announcements for the special started on Wednesday 10th December, with Kieran Culkin being the first celebrity to be announced. Kieran, who won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in A Real Pain, will be joined by his wife Jazz.
Kieran said of the show: “We first started watching Gogglebox during lockdown in 2020, I found it so comforting watching other families around the country watching TV with us.
“It’s such a great cross-section of the UK. Ever since then, Josh and I have tried to watch it together whenever we can. I can’t wait to snuggle up on the sofa with him for such an important cause as Stand Up To Cancer.”
Meanwhile, Josh Hartnett, who has starred in films such as Pearl Harbour, 40 Days and 40 Nights, and Oppenheimer will be joining the show alongside his wife Tamsin Egerton.
Speaking about the show, Josh said: “Tamsin introduced me to Gogglebox many years ago and I’ve been a fan ever since.
“Having the chance to sit with her, share a few laughs and inevitably say something that embarrasses us both, all while helping raise awareness for the worthiest of charities, is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season.
“I’m incredibly excited to be a part of it, and to support Stand Up To Cancer.”
The Celebrity Traitors stars Joe Marler and Nick Mohammed will also feature.
Joe said: “We had a mad old time on The Traitors, and somehow came out of it as actual mates… though I’ll be keeping one eye on him at all times, just in case.”
Nick added: “Great -finally an opportunity for him to apologise for making me believe he was a traitor. Joe still texts me about it every 20 minutes, so sitting on a sofa together, unnaturally close, felt like the safest way to rebuild our trust.”
Scottish actor David Tennant and his wife Georgia will also feature.
When is Celebrity Gogglebox on TV?
Celebrity Gogglebox for Stand Up To Cancer airs at 9.10pm on Friday 12th December on Channel 4.
The eighth series of Celebrity Gogglebox is due to land in 2026.
What is Celebrity Gogglebox?
Celebrity Gogglebox was first created as a charity special for Stand Up To Cancer, but after the show’s success, Channel 4 decided to turn the concept into a real series, with the first series hitting our screens in 2019.
There’s since been seven series to date, with series seven arriving on 6th June 2025.
