EXCLUSIVE: Oscar-winning studio Lion Forge Entertainment has formed a strategic partnership with Scouting America, the organization formerly known as Boy Scouts of America, for the development of original content.
The partnership is the first of its kind for Scouting America and provides the opportunity to build a multi-platform, family-friendly slate with the ability to explore a variety of programming including premium scripted series, unscripted family programming, live-action feature films, and documentary projects.

One of the few Black-owned entertainment studios of scale in North America, Lion Forge Entertainment was founded by David Steward II in 2019 to amplify authentic, diverse voices in both animated and live-action content. The company won an Oscar for its animated short Hair Love and has since gone on to win multiple Emmys, as well. Most recently, Lion Forge closed a $30 million investment round, led by HarbourView Equity Partners, the Steward Family and Polarity; joined forces with Game of Thrones‘ George R. R. Martin to adapt the novella A Dozen Tough Jobs into an adult animated feature film; set a partnership with TalesVision to expand their short-form YouTube sensation, Lostlings, into a premium long-form series; and executive produced two movies, the comedy Jacob Beats Up Nate starring Lamorne Morris and Justin Long, and A Dog’s Perfect Christmas, starring Dennis Quaid for Netflix. The studio’s original animated series Iyanu has become a breakout hit on Cartoon Network and HBO Max, debuting as the number one series among kids on Cartoon Network and top 10 kids & family on HBO Max.
