Lexington-area music fans will have a chance to support Thumbfest while enjoying live performances and a community gathering at the Blue Water Folk Society’s second annual Patio Party fundraiser on July 29 in Lexington.
According to a community announcement, the event will take place from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at The Village Pub, 7318 Huron Ave. Suite 101, Lexington, and will raise money to help cover costs associated with the annual music festival.
The fundraiser will feature performances by Michigan singer-songwriter and guitarist Denny Dwyer and Barry Shigelone, who are scheduled to perform country music, original songs and classics from the 1960s and 1970s. A special guest appearance is also planned by 15-year-old local musician Mason Anderson.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for outdoor seating.
According to the announcement, guests will be able to purchase food and adult beverages from The Village Pub during the event.
“This is going to be a great event,” Marty Malek, Thumbfest festival director and Blue Water Folk Society board member, said in the announcement. “Events like the Patio Party are how we connect with our community, celebrate our incredible local talent, support young musicians and keep the spirit of Thumbfest thriving year after year.”
