On Saturday, Love Island’s Instagram account announced that production had been evacuated due to wildfires in South Africa, where the show is filmed. The announcement also revealed that the premiere date would be moved — just one day after it was confirmed that the season was set to debut on Wednesday, Jan. 14. The show is known to film close to its air date in order to capture real-time drama in the villa.
“Further to a production evacuation owing to ongoing wildfires in the area, our assessment of the location site has concluded that filming will need to be postponed,” the post reads. “Health and safety is our greatest priority and will always come first, and therefore the transmission of Love Island: All Stars will be delayed until a date to be confirmed.”
