Chelley Bissainthe, the Love Island Season 7 standout who’s known for her charm and humor, just showed fans another side of herself—and it has nothing to do with villa drama.
In a new video from Uproxx’s Sound Check, the reality star appeared alongside host Jeremy Hecht for a fun segment where she had to choose between two tracks: her own song, “Love Me,” and her boyfriend Ace Greene’s recent viral freestyle. The choice set up a playful dilemma, but Chelley handled it with the confidence of a natural performer.
“I know all the words because that song is fire. I have to give that to him,” she said with a grin, referring to Ace’s song. Then, after a quick pause, she laughed and added, “But who am I to go against me?”
That moment instantly became the clip’s breakout quote, earning thousands of views and sparking a wave of supportive fan comments.
A Hidden Talent Comes to Light
Chelley also opened up about how “Love Me” came to life. She revealed that the song was written during the COVID lockdown as part of a spontaneous birthday surprise from a close friend.
“It was COVID,” she said. “So for my birthday, one of my really close friends said, ‘Get dressed—we’re going to the studio.’ I didn’t know what I was going to record, so I wrote the song really fast. I was just having fun.”
She explained that “Love Me” was inspired by Chris Brown and DaniLeigh’s song “Easy,” and that she wrote it while thinking about her friends in relationships. “I wasn’t in a relationship either,” she said. “So all of that was me thinking about my friends who were in relationships, and I was like, maybe they feel like this.”
Hecht smiled and said, “You manifested your own love,” to which Chelley replied, “Exactly right.”
Fans Are Loving Her Musical Side
The Uproxx comment section quickly filled with excitement. “Haha didn’t know Chelley had a song,” one fan wrote, while another said, “Didn’t know my girl could singggg.”
Many were surprised to learn she wrote it, too. “Woaw I knew she sang it but I didn’t think she wrote it—ookaaay Chelley!” one viewer commented. Another added, “So talented! Chelley, we need the song!”
Others couldn’t help but praise her and Ace as a creative couple. “Okurrrr, a musical good-looking household. How is that fair? So much talent in one house,” one fan joked.
And one comment perfectly summed up the internet’s reaction: “My mama’s really multi-talented. What can’t you do, @_slimthin?”
