Love Island USA season 8’s Parmida Keshani is revealing how Casa Amor found out that one contestant had been removed.
Alannah Keyser was removed from Casa Amor and did not appear on the season after episode 20, Peacock previously confirmed to PEOPLE. Narrator Iain Stirling made a brief comment confirming Alannah’s exit on the June 25 episode. “Alannah has left Casa Amor,” he said.
The 21-year-old had been facing scrutiny from fans after a resurfaced video began circulating online, appearing to show her using a racial slur while singing along to Roddy Ricch’s 2019 song “The Box.” She later apologized in a video after leaving the reality show.
“We were told that she left for personal reasons,” Parmida, 27, tells PEOPLE of how Alannah’s exit was communicated internally.

“I just was praying that she was okay. We were friends, so I was just like, well, I hope it’s nothing family-related. I hope she’s okay. But yeah, that’s what we were told,” Parmida says. “We kind of just had to move on.”
It was also “pretty crazy” that the truth of Alannah’s exit wasn’t explained in full to Kayda until movie night, she says. Kayda remained single after Casa Amor and reunited with Zach, who had explored a connection with Alannah before she left, but he didn’t tell Kayda that Alannah had been removed.
Parmida returned to the villa with Corbin Mims after Casa Amor, and was met with a hostile reception from the women.
“It was a rough start. They were all hating towards Corbin. I know it wasn’t towards me, but at the same time, when they’re all laughing as we’re walking, that’s still disrespectful to me,” she says of her introduction into the villa. “It was hard for me to let it slide, but I do forgive, and I don’t like drama, so I decided to let it go.”
She says she and the girls all “got along really well” after that, though. “I can see myself being friends with all of them outside of the villa. Me and Kenzie, we’ve got to work on the friendship, but that’s her problem. I’m cool with her, but she does act a certain way, and I can’t help but put her in her place. That’s just the type of person I am.”

She and Corbin were dumped from the villa on the July 3 episode, after having closed things off between themselves earlier on.
“We are going to continue to get to know each other better and we want to go on dates, we want to explore different restaurants, we want to travel,” she says.
“We’re still going to be closed off. We’ve talked about that too. I guess we’re exclusive, because we’re both at that time in our lives where we don’t want to focus on more than one person,” she says. “We’ll see how it goes. I feel good about us.”
The season 8 finale of Love Island USA airs Sunday, July 12, at 9 p.m. ET on Peacock.
