LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR)- The Lynchburg Film Festival will feature more than a 30 independent short films from local talent and more than a dozen countries.
The festival will take place on October 24-25 at the Historic Theater in the Academy Center of the Arts.
Organizers said the short films cover a range of genres, including animation, comedy, documentary, drama, and experimental works. There will also be student showcases and Q&As with filmmakers.
The following filmmakers will be in attendance:
Zeshaan Younus (Los Angeles) — I’ve Seen All I Need to See
Saladin White II (Philadelphia) — Wholesome and Muscle Memory; developing a feature film slated to shoot in Lynchburg next year

Sarah Danko (Pennsylvania) — Before Morning
The event is made possible with support from the Office of Economic Development and Tourism Lynchburg, the Virginia Film Office, James River Arts, and the Academy Center of the Arts.
“The Lynchburg Film Festival adds a dynamic new layer to our city’s cultural and creative economy,” said Marjette Upshur, Director of the Office of Economic Development & Tourism. “Events like this showcase local talent, attract new visitors, and reinforce the City of Lynchburg as a hub for the arts.”
