Canadian singer/songwriter Maddisun is pleased to share the official music video for “Amber,” which is now available on YouTube, as the artist enjoys a live show tour of the UK and Ireland.
“Amber” – written by Maddisun and Julian Bueckert (who also produced) – is the newest music video to drop from the Cranbrook, BC-based artist’s third album, The Pages, which arrived on digital streaming platforms in October after an initial physical release on vinyl, CD, and cassette.
Structured as a musical journal, The Pages carries an old soul vibe that seamlessly blends vintage folk, rock ‘n’ roll, southern rock, and Americana influences across twelve tracks – all written by Maddisun with ten produced by Julian Bueckert, and one each produced by Ian Docherty and Jim Bryson. Each song represents a page from Maddisun’s journal and is a direct reflection of Maddisun’s personal moments of love, loss, growth, connection, and self-discovery.
Speaking about the new “Amber” video, Maddisun says:
“This song is about self-exploration and manifesting our own positive energy amidst the whirlwind of activity – and opinions – that surround us. For the video, my director (Laura Lynn Petrick) and I chose a ’90s-inspired digital and Super 8MM look and the setting of Toronto to capture the idea of staying grounded, living in our own free energy, and tuning out the background noise.”
Maddisun has enjoyed a nomadic musical adventure that has taken her throughout Canada, to Ireland, and to Los Angeles. Leading into this album, she has dropped two prior albums, released over ten singles, and played 500+ shows in the last five years, including four NXNE showcases and a Folk Canada showcase at Folk Alliance International.
To further celebrate The Pages, Maddisun has joined fellow Canadian artist Mallory Chipman for a tour of the UK and Ireland that includes shows in Galway (January 14th), Athy (January 15th), London (January 20th), Cambridge (January 21 st), Sheffield (January 22nd), Bristol (January 23rd), Chester (January 24th), Dunfermline (January 25th), and Glasgow (January 26th).
