MADISON, Wis. — The Madison Symphony Orchestra is celebrating a big milestone this year.
The orchestra has been providing music to listeners for 100 years.
“Well, we’re just thrilled for the past 100 years, we have been one of the leading arts organizations for the city of Madison and for the whole South-Central region of Wisconsin,” said Executive Director Robert Reed. “And then, so we’re thrilled that we have started as a small community group. And now we’re a fully professional group, somewhat the envy of many regional orchestras across the country. And so it’s just a great thing to be with the Madison Symphony and have seen us evolve for the years.”
Reed said a lot is owed to the community for the symphony orchestra’s growth because there is a dedicated group of people supporting them in the region.
“And so that’s what makes us be able to thrive, because we have the community who wants us to be here,” he said.
