Daniel Hidden, a popular Australian magician, was found dead after a 10-day search. He was 26.

Hidden was last seen on June 14 at 3 a.m. in Broadbeach, a suburb of the Gold Coast, Australia, reported local outlets The New Zealand Herald and 7News. Over the next week and a half, local and national authorities — including the Australian Defence Force, Queensland Police, the State Emergency Service, Queensland Fire Department and Rural Fire Service volunteers — launched a massive search effort, concluding on June 24.

About 11 a.m. on Wednesday, the 26-year-old’s body was found in bushland at Mount Cougal National Park in Queensland, Australia, according to a Queensland Police press release.

Per 7News, Hidden’s vehicle was discovered on June 16 on a road several miles from the park, refocusing authorities’ search to the rugged area. Authorities also believed, per 7News, that his phone was switched off shortly after he was last seen, and incoming calls were diverted to a full inbox.

Police said in their press release that Hidden’s death was not being treated as suspicious, and authorities are continuing to investigate.

According to his website, Hidden was a working magician, known for his “saucy showmanship” and his “original routines of outstanding deceptions.”

On Instagram, he maintained a following of over 7,000, seemingly last updating his account on June 9.

In the comments of his final post, fans and friends shared tributes to the late performer.

“Rip my bro was always fun times with ya,” wrote one.

“RIP brother 😭🖤” posted another.

In the days before authorities discovered his body, several of Hidden’s family members made emotional public pleas, per 7News.

“Lots of crying,” said Ilya Jamshidi, Hidden’s brother, about how he has spent his days since he had gone missing. “My personal life is put aside.”

“He is my son and he is very strong,” said Faranak, Hidden’s mother. “I believe in him, but now it’s more than eight days passed. We need to find him, he needs help.”
