Mandy Moore’s son is already asking the hard-hitting questions.
On Thursday, July 16, the actress, 42, shared a post on her Instagram Stories about a recent conversation she’d had with her son Gus, 5, on the way to summer camp.
“On our way to camp this morning Gus asked me if I was going to die before dad because I’m older than him,” Moore wrote.
“BURN. I told him I’m only a year older than @taylordawesgoldsmith, geeez,” she added.

That same day, the star shared a video on her Instagram Stories where she got candid about what her body looks like after having three kids. In the clip, Moore stretched loose skin on her abdomen while looking in the mirror. “After 3 kids in 3½ years, this is what my body is…loose skin and all,” she captioned the brief clip.
In the subsequent video, the actress shared an update on her fitness journey. “Also Im super awkward and not a natural athlete but I’m committed to getting stronger for the long run,” she captioned a video of herself doing a pull-up in a gym.
Back in May 2025, Moore celebrated her first Mother’s Day as a mom of three and shared a sweet message about motherhood in an Instagram carousel.
“Being a mom is the single greatest gift of my life and while you’re never off the clock worrying or stressing or planning, the quiet, unmistakable joy triumphs over everything else,” she wrote. “I’m endlessly grateful to the moms in my life who model what it takes, lend an ear, make the best suggestions, and generally make me feel less alone on the journey.”
In July 2025, the actress appeared on Kylie Kelce’s podcast Not Gonna Lie and was asked whether she got a lot of opinions about having her daughter Lou at 40.

“Yes and no. I mean, I feel like having my third child at 40, this term ‘geriatric pregnancy’ that’s thrown around. I think at least in my experience, so many of my friends are having kids later in life, whether it’s by choice or it’s by circumstance or biology,” Moore began.
She added, “I think the thing that I had the most trouble with is just like this system in general kind of treating us as this anomaly that we’re like too old and we’re too complicated or high risk, and really, it’s like, ‘Nope, we’re just human beings.’”
“And I feel like it’s just such an outdated label,” she continued. “So it’s less about how I think the people and the perceptions they may have had, like the people in my life, it was just more about the healthcare system in general. It feels like such an outdated one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to just women in general.”
