Mario Lopez, who was a child actor himself, is celebrating a special occasion as October comes to a close, with his son Dominic, known as “Nico,” working on two new acting roles before the end of the year.
Lopez took to Instagram to share the big news, sharing photos of his son on the set of an upcoming horror film, with the caption reading, “That’s a wrap! My boy just finished shooting a horror movie in NY.”
The Saved by the Bell star went on, “home for a quick pit stop before heading back for a Christmas film. He’s going from boo! To ho ho ho! Couldn’t be prouder of my little leading man…”
In the hashtags, Lopez appeared to confirm which horror movie his son is acting in, writing, “#TheRevengeOfLaLlorona.” In one of the photos, Dominic posed with one of the stars of the film, Raymond Cruz.
Lopez didn’t share any details about the Christmas film his son is set to star in next, but it’s likely the movie Mission Merry Christmas, starring Trevor Donovan and Jillian Murray for Great American Family. Back in September, the network announced that Donovan, Murray and Dominic would star in the upcoming movie, which is expected to premiere in late December of this year.

In response to Lopez’s latest update, fans and friends celebrated Dominic’s new roles and cheered him on, with one person writing, “He’s a star! Just like Dad! ⭐.”
“That’s fantastic 👏👏👏 You can be very proud of your son ❤️ 🥰 🤗,” said another, while more fans wrote, “Nico!!! Killing it! Congrats!🔥🔥🔥,” and “This is absolutely amazing good for you Dominic.”
Someone else told Lopez that Dominic was “following in your footsteps,” as a different fan praised the young actor for his professionalism, saying, “He is so mature for his age!!!”
Dominic Made His Acting Debut in a 2024 Christmas Film
Dominic only made his acting debut last holiday season, when he appeared in Once Upon a Christmas Wish, which stars Lopez and his wife, Courtney.
In the film, Lopez plays the mayor of an idyllic town named Brian, whose childhood wishlist starts to come true. Then, his childhood friend Nina, played by Courtney, comes to town, and they soon spark a romantic connection.
