According to Entertainment Weekly, Marvel Entertainment is set to release a first look at Season 2 of X-Men ’97 and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man at their NYCC panel tomorrow. Both animated seasons were critically acclaimed and received widespread praise among Marvel fans. This means that NYCC attendees will probably get an exclusive first look into two of the most lucrative animated shows Marvel has to offer.
X-Men ’97 is a direct continuation of the original X-Men animated series. It features many of the same characters and many of the original voice actors. It also features an incredibly similar feel to the first series and even continues many of its plotlines, or calls back to them at the very least. It is easily one of the most popular animated shows at Marvel right now, and fans cannot wait for the second season.
Your Friendly NeighborhoodSpider-Man operates in a similar capacity. It is a completely new show, but it pays homage to the Web-Slinger’s original art style. Moreover, it includes many of the prominent MCU characters, albeit different versions of them. Either way, even though Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is not the most popular Spider-Man animated series, it is still critically acclaimed.
As NYCC is heating up, more and more is being released on many of Marvel’s most important series. Given that information is already being leaked about some of their more ambitious film projects, it’s no stretch to say more about their animated series will likely be released. Overall, it is an incredible couple of days to be a superhero fan.
Either way, it’s incredibly likely that Marvel will release a first look at both X-Men ’97 and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2. Due to the massive success of both shows’ first season, they are both likely to be incredibly well-received. Thankfully, the information is likely to be released to the public as it is shown at the panel.
