While filming of Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been put to a temporary halt following Tom Holland’s on-set concussion, fresh casting updates for the film continue to make their way onto the internet. Marvel has cast another villain for the upcoming Spidey flick —one who is already familiar to Spider-Man fans.
According to a Deadline report, Marvin Jones III has been cast as Alonzo Thompson “Lonnie” Lincoln / Tombstone in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. This will mark his live-action debut after previously being associated with the animated world of Spider-Man. Marvin voiced Tombstone in Sony’s animated Oscar-winning film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and is set to reprise the role in the trilogy’s concluding film, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, scheduled for June 2027.
As for the live-action project, it remains unclear whether Marvin will play the primary antagonist or not. With much still under wraps, the film also features the return of Michael Mando as Mac Gargan, aka Scorpion, and Jon Bernthal’s The Punisher.
