Matthew McConaughey and Camila McConaughey are looking suave in Rome.
The married couple were photographed out for a stroll in Italy’s capital on Tuesday, May 5, just over a month before they celebrate their 14th wedding anniversary in June. Matthew, 56, wore a blue suit, casual shoes and a white shirt sans tie for their date night, while Camila, 43, dressed in a loose-fitting all-black outfit with white sneakers. The couple appeared to travel to Rome ahead of production for Matthew’s new Italy-set Netflix movie Positano; Deadline reported in December that he will costar with Zoe Saldaña.
Matthew and Camila met in 2006 and began dating by 2007; the couple married in 2012. They share three children, including son Levi, 17, daughter Vida, 16, and youngest son Livingston, 13. The couple celebrate their wedding anniversary on June 9 each year, though they admitted in 2025 that they frequently forget which date the actual milestone took place on. “This joke’s happened many times before, and we don’t mean it for it to happen, but for whatever reason, Camila and I never remember our anniversary,” he said, in a video he reshared to Instagram from an Access Hollywood interview.
“We may forget the date but try to remember the meaning #happyanniversary,” Matthew wrote on social media at the time.

Matthew and the Brazilian-born Camila famously met for the first time at a nightclub in Los Angeles. “It was as if she was floating. And I did not say, ‘Who is that?’ I said, ‘What is that?’ And then introduced myself,” he told PEOPLE back in 2020. “Since that evening I have not wanted to spend time with any other woman, definitely have not wanted to sleep with anyone else. I’ve not wanted to have children with anyone else other than her.”
The family lives in Matthew’s home state Texas: they are very close with Matthew’s mother Kay “MaMac” McConaughey, 94. Camila recently shared some insight into her bond with her mother-in-law when she shared a photo on Instagram of them smiling together at an event for the family’s nonprofit organization MJM on May 3. “We make a pretty good combo! Wild to say, but true that one of my best friends it is my mother in law ❤️,” she wrote in a caption to that post.

Matthew most recently appeared in a movie with 2025’s The Lost Bus on Apple TV; the film also featured their son, Levi, in a supporting role. That project actually marked the first live-action movie McConaughey has appeared in since 2019’s The Gentlemen. He will return to the big screen this summer with The Rivals of Amziah King, in limited theaters Aug. 14 and everywhere Aug. 21.
