Irish-singer-songwriter Maverick Sabre returns and stuns once again with latest single and video
My first exposure to Maverick Sabre was at a charity event before he became the artistic behemoth the world came to know him for. My friend turned to me and said, “He’s going to blow up”, though I’m not sure if she believed it herself — I too was unsure.
Back then, his talent was unmistakable and remains so today. His latest track, “8 Stages” is a ballad of silent heartache, longing for the yesteryears of relationships, both familial, platonic, and romantic.
‘8 Stages’ Gifts Us Haunting Music, Lasting Message
“8 Stages” opens on a soft poetic verse formed of winged, migratory-like sounds, gliding over distorted production. His synergy with its production, courtesy of Ben McKone, opens with statement words: “In life things change, I wish I could fly away, To find a way, A brighter day”.
It’s certainly laced with threads of metaphor and heavy simile as he turns once again to his instrument of choice. It’s both devastatingly beautiful yet deadly — saturated with hymns of regret while documenting the lack of closure within personal relationships between close ones.
