Meet Malachi Barton, the second most Googled actor in the US in 2025

Google’s highly anticipated Year in Search 2025 report, which reveals the top trending search queries of the year, is officially out. In the entertainment category, Oscar winner Mikey Madison topped the most Googled actors’ ranking globally, while The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal took the No 1 spot in the US.

Pascal is surprisingly followed by a much younger actor, Malachi Barton. The 18-year-old was in the Disney Channel film Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires this year, alongside Milo Manheim, Meg Donnelly and more. Next, he’ll be appearing in Coven Academy and the Jonas Brothers-fronted Camp Rock 3.

Malachi Barton hails from Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he was born to Felicia and Loren Barton. His mother is a musician, composer and actress, who has singing credits in Encanto (2021) and hosts the MOMager podcast with her husband and son. She also worked on the soundtrack of Pretty Little Liars and the theme song of DuckTales.

In an interview with parenting information website Parents, Felicia shared that she “never wanted to push music on [Malachi]”. Instead, he started acting when he was five. “We wanted him to do what he is great at and let mum and dad bear the weight of the rest of it,” Felicia recalled, before revealing that the couple has transitioned into an “assistant-type position” now.
