Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s idyllic life in Montecito could be disrupted as the neighborhood’s residents have been issued a warning.

Drivers in the Montecito area have been urged to exercise “caution” when making their way around the sites in question.

Some of the disruption is nearing Meghan and Harry, as it’s taking place less than a 10-minute drive from their $29 million mansion.

Local Santa Barbara news site Edhat has warned residents to expect lane closures and detours on Highway 101 for the next week. The disruption is being caused by “major” work taking place.

The lane from Los Patos Way to San Ysidro Road and the San Ysidro Road off-ramp will be closed, according to the website. The work began on February 8 and is expected to finish on February 21.

Santa Barbara South and Padaro will be affected, as well as Montecito. Drivers are being urged to be alert when traveling through the areas where a reduced speed limit of 55 mph is currently in effect.

Drivers are also being encouraged to plan their journeys ahead of time to allow for any extra travel time as the construction work continues.

Workers are currently paving new roadway sections, upgrading drainage systems, installing electrical lighting connections and making new foundations for overhead signs.

Crews in Montecito will also be removing existing pavement and installing new electrical infrastructure.

When Harry and Meghan bought their Montecito home, it’s believed they spent just under $15 million on the property. However, it’s now worth an impressive $29 million.

The mansion has a number of jaw-dropping features, including a wine cellar, outdoot pool and tennis court, and an over-water spa room. The property also features a sprawling garden perfect for Archie and Lilibet to tun about in.

Meghan sometimes gives fans glimpses inside her mansion on her Instagram page, where she’s shown off places like the inside of their study and well-stocked kitchen.

The former Suits actress spoke out about the home in an interview with The Cut back in 2022. “One of the first things my husband saw when we walked around the house was those two palm trees,” she shared.

Meghan added, “See how they’re connected at the bottom? He goes, ‘My love, it’s us.’ And now every day when Archie goes by us, he says, ‘Hi, Momma. Hi, Papa.'”
