Prince Harry and Meghan Markle turned heads earlier this month when they stepped out at Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday party.
Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars were in attendance at the Kardashian-Jenner matriculation’s James Bond-themed celebrations, which were held at Jeff Bezos’s Beverly Hills mansion, and among the guests were the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
While Harry and Meghan seemed to enjoy the party, turning up hand in hand, their presence did raise some eyebrows. The pair, as ex-working royals, weren’t necessarily expected to be at such an A-list event, especially on Remembrance Weekend, when the Royal Family were attending poignant events back in the UK.
There were other eyebrow-raising controversies surrounding Meg and Harry’s attendance when photos of the duo were shared and then deleted from Kim’s Instagram account. The reason behind the deletion of these images is disputed.
Despite all this, King Charles’ former butler Grant Harrold thinks this all means something much bigger for the prince and the former actress.
With Meghan and Prince among the VIP guests at Kris’s lavish 70th birthday celebrations, and the star having previously sent the Kardashian-Jenner family PR packages from her lifestyle brand As Ever, rumours of a growing friendship between the two households are stronger than ever.
Speaking on behalf of Action Network, Grant Harrold – who worked as King Charles’ butler between 2007 and 2011- said,”This is a real sign that they’ve been accepted into the Hollywood showbiz world.
“This celebration was definitely the party of the year, so their attendance feels like a real reflection of their new post-royal lives. However, I don’t think it’s surprising that Kris Jenner wanted them there, as having a real-life prince at any do definitely gives it an extra buzz.”
Grant then pointed out, “Royals attending celebrity events isn’t new, and has been happening for generations. It always goes the other way around, and many big names have attended King Charles’ big parties over the years
Before concluding, “It will be interesting to see if any more comes of this friendship with the Kardashians. I would love to see Kris on Meghan’s Netflix show, and it could be great for both brands if it ever comes off.”
Meghan’s Netflix show featured her introducing some of her A-list pals, including Chrissy Teigen, Christina Tosi, José Andrés, and Tan France, among others, as she shared a range of tips and hacks that viewers can apply in the kitchen and around the house.
