Meghan Markle faced criticism after sharing a photo of her four year old daughter, Lilibet, on Instagram. The 44 year old Duchess of Sussex posted a picture of Prince Harry, 41, carrying their daughter who clutched a bunch of red balloons.
The couple also share Archie, six, together. “These two + Archie = my forever Valentines,” Meghan captioned the post. The image became a topic of discussion on Sky News Australia, where presenter Rita Panahi noted that this was the first time Meghan had shared a photo clearly showing Lilibet’s face.
The Sky News host sarcastically described the post as “nice”, but royal commentator Kinsey Schofield ripped into Meghan, branding her a “hypocrite” and claimed she is “not on the same page” as her husband.
Schofield stated: “Color me cynical. I think that this wreaks of hypocrisy. Just days ago, we watched Prince Harry have a mental breakdown in front of a group of bereaved parents who lost their children to online bullying on social media,” reports the Express.
“So Harry is crying in front of these people about how the internet and social media is evil and days later Meghan slaps a picture of Lili on Instagram. I’m sorry but these two are not on the same page.” Rita concurred: “They’re certainly not on the same page. That we can agree on.”
In previous posts featuring her children, Meghan has consistently kept their faces obscured. This release marks arguably the most revealing photograph the former Suits star has publicly shared of her daughter.
Social media users raised questions about potential digital manipulation after noticing one balloon appeared without an attached string. One observer noted: “I have to….bad photoshop as one balloon is floating perfectly without a string! ! ! ! !”.
Another concurred: “I’ve never seen a group of balloons behave that well outdoors. It appears to have been photoshopped and they missed the string on one.”
