A particular celebrity guest featured in the trailer for season two of Meghan Markle’s Netflix show ‘With Love, Meghan’ has sparked significant controversy.
Following Chrissy Teigen’s appearance in a scene crafting with Meghan, numerous users flocked to social media to express their outrage over Chrissy’s inclusion in the footage.
Back in 2011, Ms Teigen reportedly sent TV personality Courtney Stodden direct messages on X encouraging them to end their own life.
Ms Teigen, who is wed to singer John Legend, acknowledged she felt “ashamed and completely embarrassed” by her behavior.
According to the BBC, she stated at the time: “Not a lot of people are lucky enough to be held accountable for all their past… [comments] in front of the entire world. I’m mortified and sad at who I used to be. I was an insecure, attention-seeking troll. I am ashamed and completely embarrassed at my behaviour but that is nothing compared to how I made Courtney feel.”
In the trailer for Season 2 of ‘With Love, Meghan’, Chrissy Teigen, 39, and Meghan Markle, 44, are seen engaging in a craft project together, with the segment set to air on August 26.
Joining Teigen on the guest list for the new season are podcast host Jamie Kern Lima and social media influencer Jay Shetty.
One social media user stated their intention to watch the show, but not for the Duchess of Sussex: “I am watching it just to see which celebrities showed up this time.”
Another quipped: “Was hoping to see some family and friends…… oh wait she’s [Meghan’s] a bit light on those!”.
However, others expressed excitement for the show’s return. One fan wrote: “This looks cute. I am excited about this despite what haters say. The first season was good.”
Another comment under the Netflix trailer on YouTube read: “I can’t wait for the second season!”.
Meghan, 44, also shared the trailer on her Instagram account, captioning it: “The best moments are made to be shared. With Love, Meghan returns August 26th on @netflix.”
The trailer, released on Tuesday, features the Duchess of Sussex cooking and baking with her celebrity friends. She is heard saying: “I love the idea of just spending time together… and finding new ways to show people you care.”
Netflix’s synopsis for the new season reads: “From the kitchen to the garden, discover new cooking, hosting and DIY craft ideas as Meghan welcomes friends and famous guests in stunning California.”
Although Prince Harry was absent from the trailer for the upcoming season, it remains uncertain whether he or his two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, will make an appearance in the new series.
