Meghan Markle’s body language has been analysed as she appeared to ‘correct’ her friend during a double interview.
The Duchess of Sussex, who recently lost a member of staff after just three months, joined author and close Northwestern University sorority friend Courtney Adamo at Godmothers Bookstore in California. The pair joined togther to discuss Adamo’s new book, The Family Home, and it quickly became clear that Meghan is more well practiced at public speaking than her friend.
A tweet pointing out Meghan’s behavior during an interview with Courtney has highlighted how she appears to ‘correct’ her pal, with some critics online branding it as ‘narcissistic’. However a body language expert has now given their view.

The moment, shared on X, was described by one critic, “Watch how Meghan takes over, physically corrects another woman, then lets her apologize. She will literally grab your arm mid-sentence to make sure you’re ‘doing it right.'”
Body language expert Judi James has anaylsed the interaction as she exclusively told US Express, “There’s a hint of a ‘tit for tat’ relationship here as Meghan leans to correct her friend’s microphone holding just as her friend corrected her verbal use of the word ‘drive’ while she was speaking.”
“It does suggest a very long-term relationship where there is a relaxed approach to interruptions. Meghan reaches out to signal the mic needs to be held higher and her friend apologies without any signals of rancor at being corrected,” she added.
She continued, “Meghan’s background would mean she’s very in tune with any production values like getting the mic placement right or checking the camera angle, so this gesture would probably be second nature to her. There’s probably no politer way to move a mic that is being held too low to pick up the voice so Meghan’s interjection appears to be appropriate here even though it might gain her the tag of being controlling or dominant. After seeing her friend correct her verbal mistake during Meghan’s talk, it looks as though this type of behavior defines a close relationship.”
However critics have responded online and called the moment out, as one person pointed out, “It seems like it was Courtney’s moment to shine and Meghan has to interject!!! What a truly awful woman she is!” Another shared, “99.9% of people would just say ‘lift the microphone closer to your mouth.'” A third said, “It’s also her narcissism showing. Had to interject herself into someone else’s moment. She’s exhausting and insufferable.”
The clip comes as one Meghan’s former staff has spoken out about working for her, as the Duchess’ former publicist Emily Robinson has quit after merely three months on the job. Emily had only recently joined as communications director this past June, bringing her previous experience from Netflix. She became the tenth individual recruited as Meghan’s spokesperson within a five-year period.
Speaking out since Emily’s exit became public, one of her associates disclosed that she personally chose to end her position after three months. They revealed, “It was her decision. She left a few weeks ago. She’s not a quitter, so things must have been pretty horrible for her to go.”
