The streaming powerhouse will not feature the Duchess of Sussex’s lifestyle brand at Netflix House in Dallas, Texas, which launches December 11 with immersive experiences and merchandise from hit series like Stranger Things and Squid Game.
Despite Netflix’s substantial financial backing of Meghan’s venture, her products have been completely excluded from the retailer’s shelves, according to The Royalist. Sources close to the former Royal have downplayed the snub, claiming her items were always intended for exclusive online sales through the brand’s own website. It comes after George Clooney’s honest verdict on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry is revealed as he ‘ditches’ the couple.
The store will instead showcase Bridgerton-inspired merchandise and various food and beverage items, even though Netflix has invested significantly in American Riviera Orchard, reports the Express.
Industry insiders suggest the decision stems from her cooking show’s lackluster performance with audiences. The debut season of “With Love, Meghan” premiered in March but completely missed Netflix’s top 300 most-watched programs during the first half of 2024.
Official data reveals the series garnered just 5.3 million views, landing at a disappointing 383rd place in the streaming platform’s rankings.
