The Duchess’s alleged vow has been set out in two linked reports by the Express, which draw on commentary from journalist Rob Shuter and royal sources.
In one article, the paper said: “It is believed she no longer wants to see the Royal Family again – which will no doubt cause upset for the King, who is keen to meet his grandchildren.”
It is noted that King Charles, who also has a house in the Cotswolds, has only seen Prince Archie a few times and met Princess Lilibet once during the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.

Mr Shuter, writing on his Naughty But Nice Substack and quoted by the Express, describes Meghan as feeling that she and Prince Harry have “bent over backwards” for his relatives, only to be embarrassed by how his current UK visit has played out.
He adds that “as far as she’s concerned, she’ll never see them again,” framing her stance as a response to what he calls “one insult too many”.
The Express’s coverage places this against the backdrop of Harry’s complicated relationship with the Royal Family.
It was previously reported that he and Meghan would visit their friend Ellen DeGeneres in Oxfordshire to ask for advice.

A second Express piece now argues that Meghan’s position and her long-rumoured options – including a possible solo tell‑all project – are being viewed by commentators as a way to hit back at the institution after years of tension.
One expert quoted by the paper has previously warned that a detailed Meghan memoir could amount to the “ultimate revenge”.
With the Express describing it as a “revenge plot”, the expert suggested it would be a “publishing sensation” that might “blow any chances of reconciliation with the royals”.
They also claimed “much of her memoir is likely already crafted” from diaries and notes kept since before the couple stepped away as working royals.
The Express’s royal live coverage also highlights King Charles’s side of the story, reporting that he is “reportedly hopeful” of seeing Harry while he is in the UK.
