On Saturday, Meghan Markle was seen arriving at the Balenciaga show at Paris Fashion Week, marking the Duchess of Sussex’s first appearance at the event. For the special show, she wore a white ensemble featuring a dramatic cape that wrapped around her shoulders before falling behind her in a long train. The cape was over a white button-down shirt and white wide-legged pants.
The duchess had her hair slicked back in a tight bun and wore black satin Balenciaga Knife heels with pointed toes. She also carried a small black purse. In her Stories, Meghan shared a clip of her feet walking towards the show.
A rep speaking with People stated that Meghan was at the show to support Creative Director for the House, Pierpaolo Piccioli.
“Over the years, the duchess has worn a number of designs by Pierpaolo. They have worked closely together, collaborating on design for key moments on the world stage,” they shared, adding, “She has long admired his craftsmanship and modern elegance, and tonight was no different. This evening reflects the culmination of many years of artistry and friendship, reflected in her support for his new creative chapter at Balenciaga.”
Meghan was later seen posing with Pierpaolo after the show before they turned to one another and shared a hug and some conversation. In April 2022, Meghan wore another all-white suit look, this one from Valentino, to the Invictus Games Friends and Family reception at Zuiderpark in the Netherlands. Pierpaolo was the creative director of the brand at the time.
Meghan has made other appearances at New York and Toronto Fashion Weeks, but not for about a decade.
