Because Christmas and the festive period is a time for spending with loved ones, which is something Meghan is preaching.
But isn’t she actually distant from many loved ones? Her father, who she hasn’t spoken to for years? The Royal Family?
Of course, Meghan has plenty of other loved ones in her life (Prince Harry included), and she is entitled to choose who she does want in her circle and who she doesn’t.
But to preach about loved ones and joy, when many people know that she has lost some of the family connections that should be among the most important to her, will be too tempting for her critics not to mention. Especially as many of these critics think the duchess herself is to blame for these distant relationships.
Therefore, even if Meghan’s Netflix Christmas episode is a 10/10 and flawless TV viewing, it will no doubt still subject the duchess to criticism – as all her moves inevitably do.
And this won’t change. She can spread jam over as many Christmas cookies as she likes, talk about Santa as many times as she desires, but this just won’t change.
