A decade ago, before Meghan Markle and Prince Harry became a household name, I was already familiar with Meghan. She was one of the main characters in Netflix’s Suits, playing Mike Ross’ love interest, and was an integral part of the TV series.
I enjoyed watching Meghan’s performances. When news broke that she was dating Prince Harry, I thought, “Well, this is unexpected, but fantastic!” They tied the knot, the Suits cast graced their wedding, but then things took a turn for the worse.
And it happened rather quickly.
Fast forward to 2020, and “Megxit” was in full swing. The couple relocated to the US in search of a “private life” and tried to establish themselves abroad.
But without their Royal status, they didn’t have the same influence as before. During this period, Meghan had abandoned her acting career, and both Meghan and Harry were frantically trying to figure out what their new niche would be.
They’re still searching.
With documentaries, podcasts, panels, and any other ventures they can immerse themselves in under their belt, it’s high time for Meghan to return to her roots. And it couldn’t come soon enough.
Meghan seemed somewhat disappointed when she had to relinquish her acting career, so hearing that she plans to return to acting has me breathing a sigh of relief. A PR expert told Daily Express that this movie is a “desperate call for attention”, and yes, it is.
But at least it’s the RIGHT kind of desperation. She’s an actress, he’s a Royal. She left her job, then he did the same.
So why are they struggling to figure out their next move? They have a trained actress in their midst!
Her previous role as a Royal would make her a top pick for many producers, so why not capitalize on it?
Fans never got the Suits ending they wanted, and now with a spin-off, she could be part of either.
Now, Meghan’s latest role is just about getting an acting gig. She’s slated to play herself in Jason Orley’s Close Personal Friends.
She’ll make a cameo appearance as The Duchess, but it’s a far cry from the image she’s been trying to project. But who cares?
I think it’s high time she took a step back, majorly, and asserted herself as the family breadwinner. She has the talent and the connections.
She sacrificed her career for what turned out to be the worst transition into the Royal Family ever, so let’s backtrack. Harry has already made it clear he doesn’t want to return to the heart of the Royal Family, so let’s make that permanent.
Meghan, return to Hollywood, even give Deal or No Deal a call for heaven’s sake. Just do something, these feeble attempts at becoming influencers of Royal stature are becoming embarrassing.
