Megyn Kelly has entered the chat surrounding Bad Bunny’s 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show, slamming fellow conservative Meghan McCain’s support of the Puerto Rican artist’s performance.
“As if we needed further assurance that the ‘taste levels’ of conservative America do not align with @MeghanMcCain’s,” the former Fox News host, 55, wrote via X on Monday, February 9.
McCain, 41, showed her support for Bad Bunny, real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, after he performed during Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday, February 8.
“I’m sorry but I just genuinely question your taste level if you didn’t enjoy the Bad Bunny halftime show. And everything in life doesn’t have to be ruined with politics,” the former The View cohost wrote at the time.
Kelly’s response to McCain’s support drew a slew of differing reactions, with one person writing, “I didn’t like the song at all..not for any political reason..just couldn’t get into it..not my style of music,” while a second person argued, “Like she said everything doesn’t have to be political. Just give it a rest.”
“People are allowed to disagree with you,” a third person commented. “That doesn’t make them your enemy. You don’t have to constantly be on the attack. There’s so much joy in this life…dip your toe in the water,” while a fourth said, “She’s right! The halftime show was awesome! You are just trolling.”
“So much cattiness, it’s embarrassing,” a fifth person wrote in response to Kelly’s post.
Piers Morgan also commented on McCain’s post, writing, “Agreed 👍.”
Morgan, 60, later welcomed Kelly onto Piers Morgan Uncensored on Monday to further debate the topic.
“What was the problem, Megyn?” Morgan asked. Meghan replied, “A certain male gesture is coming to mind but I’m not sure I can do it on this show.” (Kelly was seemingly referring to Bad Bunny’s famous hip thrust dance move, which he showed off during his Super Bowl 60 performance.)
She continued, “It wasn’t about what he was actually going to do during the middle of the Super Bowl performance. It’s about him. It’s about him being chosen as the Super Bowl performer. Somebody who’s been an outspoken critic, of course, of the Trump administration and of America.”
Bad Bunny paid homage to Puerto Rico during his performance at the sporting event, walking through a sugar cane field and partying in a casita while performing his songs exclusively in Spanish. The set celebrated local Puerto Rican food vendors, farmers, reggaeton icons Daddy Yankee and Tego Calderón, his recent historic Grammys win and more, as well as the inclusion of Latino celebrities like Karol G, Pedro Pascal, Jessica Alba and a surprise performance by Ricky Martin.
“We want something that we can all understand. I don’t think Bad Bunny used his appearance to bash America, but I can’t be sure because I didn’t see any subcaptions on his Spanish-language performance,” Kelly contended.

She continued, “To get up there and perform the whole show in Spanish is a middle finger to the rest of America. Who gives a damn that we have 40 million Spanish speakers in the United States; we have 310 million who don’t speak a lick of Spanish.”
Prior to Bad Bunny’s halftime performance, the NFL’s decision to name him the opening act drew criticism from conservative pundits and Republican politicians — including the president of the United States. In response, Turning Point USA held the so-called All-American Halftime Show in opposition of Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, featuring Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett.
Kelly praised the Turning Point USA show in a separate post via X on Sunday, writing, “Congratulations @TPUSA, I am in tears at that BEAUTIFUL half time show. Everyone did a spectacular job – it was perfect. THANK YOU!”
