Melania Trump offered a few words of advice to King Charles III as she bid him and his wife Queen Camilla farewell on Thursday.
On April 30, the British monarch, 77, and Queen Camilla, 78, said their goodbyes to President Donald Trump, 79, and First Lady Melania after spending time with them at the White House this week.
With his state visit and lavish stay over, the King and Queen returned to the UK, but not before the First Lady could offer some words of concern first. During the farewell exchange, a lip reader revealed what were the final words said between Melania, 56, and the King.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Express US, lip reader Nicola Hickling that as the two shook hands and exchanged a parting kiss on the check, Melania said, “Send my love to Catherine and William and their children.”
With his back towards the media, the King’s response was inaudible. Nevertheless, the first lady followed with, “Take some time for you.”
It’s been years since the British monarch was seen in the U.S., partially due to the treatment he had undergone for his cancer diagnosis.
He was diagnosed with a form of cancer in February 2024, after recieving treatment for an enlarged prostate.
Within a statement, the Palace revealed, “During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.
“His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties,” the statement continued. “Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.”
After a few months of rest, he returned to public engagements will continued to undergo treatment.
In March 2025, the King was briefly hospitalized and forced to postpone engagements.

“His Majesty has responded exceptionally well to treatment and his doctors advise that ongoing measures will now move into a precautionary phase,” a spokesperson told celebrity.land. “This position will be continuously monitored and reviewed to protect and prioritise his continued recovery.”
Just months before this update, the U.S. president and first lady visited the UK for their state visit.
