MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis is set to honor legendary blues musician B.B. King with a series of events celebrating what would have been his 100th birthday.
The celebrations, organized by Memphis Tourism in collaboration with B.B. King’s Blues Club, will take place on iconic Beale Street.
Festivities will kick off with a free block party Sept. 14 from 2 to 6 p.m., featuring live music by Eric Gales and other performers.
On Sept. 16, B.B. King’s Blues Club will host an intimate birthday celebration with a ticketed event beginning at 6 p.m.
The lineup includes Bobby Rush, Carla Thomas and Hi Rhythm, along with a special musical tribute by Shirley King and the B.B. King All-Star Legends.
The events aim to commemorate King’s centennial while highlighting his enduring influence on the Memphis music scene and beyond.
