From rock n roll to jazz and roots to rap, Calgary music lovers have a lot to look forward to in the next few months.
Several bands and artists have announced tours that will bring them to the city, including MGK, George Thorogood and Diana Krall.

First up is Calgary-based soulful roots singer-songwriter JJ Shiplett, who has played with the likes of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Dwight Yoakam and Serene Ryder. He is at the Bella Concert Hall this Saturday, Nov. 8. Tickets at https://tickets.mru.ca/eventperformances.asp?evt=636
Then, American rapper MGK (also known as Machine Gun Kelly or Colson Baker) plays the Saddledome Nov. 29 as part of his Lost Americana tour.

George Thorogood and the Destroyers bring their Baddest Show on Earth to the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino on March 20. Tickets for the all-ages show are available at www.livenation.com.
“Our job description is ‘Live Rock Performers,’ ” says Thorogood. “And when we hit town, that town stays hit.”
Thorogood and the Destroyers, known for such hits as One Bourbon, One Scotch and One Beer, Move It On Over, and Who Do You Love, have been making music for 53 years and have performed 8,000-plus shows.
Jazz musician Diana Krall is among the artists performing in Calgary in the spring.
Following that, Canadian jazz legend Diana Krall plays the Jack Singer Concert Hall on April 21. Tickets are also at livenation.com as of Nov. 7.
A record-breaking musician, Krall is the only jazz singer to have eight albums debut at the top of the Billboard Jazz Albums chart. Her albums have garnered two Grammy Awards, 10 Juno Awards and have earned nine gold, three platinum, and seven multi-platinum status albums.
Canadian rock band the Sheepdogs perform in Calgary on April 24.
Finally, Saskatoon rockers The Sheepdogs bring their energetic show to the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino on April 24. Again, tickets on sale Nov. 7 at livenation.com
