On May 7, The Hollywood Reporter published its list of the 50 most powerful people in New York media. Michael and his Good Morning America co-stars, Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos, were each recognized. Michael’s production company, SMAC Entertainment, highlighted the achievement with an emotional note on Instagram.
“Congratulations to our co-founder Michael Strahan on being named to The Hollywood Reporter’s 50 Most Powerful People in New York Media 👏🎥,” the caption read on the May 12 post.
As soon as fans saw the former NFL star’s surprise news, they flooded the comments with support.

“[I like to] take a walk in Central Park,” he told the outlet. “It’s great for clearing your head and people-watching. You can also blend in, which is nice.”
